There are good cover designers and there are average ones, Indigo design is off the chart and falls in the exceptional. As author of the book I can testify that there is a clear difference with Indigo design. The previous designer hardly asked me any questions to find out the book concept or focus market of the author. Audria Gardner is an excellent graphic artist, particularly when it comes to designing book covers. She is patient, kind and professional.
I came to her beleaguered from having struggled to explain my ideas and desires concerning the book cover for my novel, The House, due out in Fall 2009. Having negotiated with two designers who failed to grasp my thoughts, Audria quietly listened then asked a few questions to clarify specifics of message of my novel.
Within two days, literally less than a week, she was sending me rough drafts of her take on my ideas which went far beyond what I could have ever imagined or constructed on my own.
The quality and finish of her work is light years beyond the previous artists with whom I consulted and one whom I had handed over a down payment on work that was exactly the opposite of what I had requested.

When a person lifts a book from the shelf, the chances of her/him purchasing that work goes from 1 in 1000 to 1 in 17. Book covers must also convey information about the words between the covers on both a literal and symbolic level.
